A Statement from the William Black Pastoral Charge Church Council

The Church Council of the William Black Pastoral Charge of The United Church of Canada in Bridgetown wishes to share its shock and dismay over the racial and homophobic events that took place during the week of the Annapolis County Exhibition. That two adolescent boys were not only verbally abused but also physically attacked while a crowd of on lookers watched is disturbing, to say the least. The United Church of Canada believes firmly in inclusion and works actively at implementing it into its work of social justice, thus moving towards inclusivity. We do not understand why this took place and why little seems to being done to condemn these racist and homophobic attacks. Jesus loved everybody, unconditionally, regardless of race or sexual orientation.

We are delighted that Bees Knees has settled in our area. We fully support them and hope that soon they will find peace, joy and acceptance here.

What to Do with Your Envelopes if You are not Comfortable with Attending Service at this Time

Hello good folk at William Black. I bet you have been wondering what to do with all those extra envelopes you now have because it seems you can't use them. Darn that nasty bug that has been keeping us at home.

Well, I have three suggestions for you, because, as you might imagine, we are a tad bit concerned about our cash flow. I've been in talks with Jim and Rick and here is our three suggestions for you to help you get rid of some of those envelopes!

1.  Put a cheque in one and put the envelope in the mail, addressed to The William Black Pastoral Charge at P.O. Box 118, B'town, NS, B0S 1C0

2.  Put some cash in an envelope and drop it off in Rick Clark's mailbox.  Be sure to put Rick's name on it so the mail man does not think Rick is extra generous with his tipping.

3.  E-Transfers, a paperless option are now working. Email address, williamblack.btown@gmail.com

Your Council has decided to continue to pay our staff: Reverend Don, Tracy, John and Wendy, during this time of the Covid-19 shutdowns/stay at home.  Who knows when we will be back worshipping together, united in face to face fellowship.  I miss it.  I miss you.  One of these days and it can't come soon enough, we will get back at it.  Stay healthy.
